Replacing legacy monolith with a high-throughput microservices frontend

FinFlow was losing 35% of signup drop-offs due to a 4.2s page load speed. ROID rebuilt their core portal in React & Edge API routes, cutting load time to 0.8s and spiking conversion by 42%.

The challenge

A six-year-old Rails monolith served the entire customer portal. Every release required a full redeploy, the signup flow took 4.2 seconds to become interactive on mobile, and a third of applicants abandoned before finishing identity verification.

What we built

We extracted the customer-facing portal into a React application backed by edge API routes, leaving the monolith to handle ledger operations behind a stable interface. Identity verification was rebuilt as a resumable multi-step flow with server-side state, so a dropped connection no longer meant starting over.

“ROID delivered what two previous agencies failed to accomplish in a year. Their engineering execution was razor-sharp and directly impacted our bottom line.”
